I Need Anti-Stress Drugs!!! Or weed...or both. Or maybe I should re-think my summer plans. Or jump off a cliff.

Our road trip keeps changing…

Chris and I are driving from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Georgia on highway 40…

We'll be going through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and into Atlanta where we will hopefully arrive in time to pick up the kids from the airport.

We’ll be traveling with the coolest dog ever, she'll be sporting a ‘Bad to the Bone’ Bandanna…

On the way home it’s a totally different story, because I feel like I need to see Graceland and become 'one' with the Colorado Rockies… and such.

On the way home we’ll be traveling with two love sick teenagers… through Georgia, Birmingham Alabama, Memphis Tennessee, Ft Smith (and little rock) Arkansas, Branson (and Joplin) Missouri, and then into Kansas.

Oy that’s a lot of states.

THEN we’re going to head into the Colorado Rockies on route 70 through Denver, Boulder, Rifle and Grand Junction…

Phew. I’m getting tired just writing this.

Lastly we will travel through Utah where we will spend some time exploring Zion National Park before we end in Mammoth for a few days.

I’m starting to stress. We don’t have reservations ANYWHERE along our route and we will be living out of tents and sleeping bags for the entire trip—and at the end of it all I will meet Chris’ family FOR THE FIRST TIME!!

I’m going to be like… “Hi, I’m Mariah… I don’t usually smell this bad”

Sweet.

ANYWAY… if any of you are along our route we’d love to meet up with you, if you don’t mind love sick teenagers, a shedding dog or stinky travelers. PLUS…if any of you have ideas of things we MUST see or do please let me know….

You walk down Pearl Street in Boulder, take a deep breath, you're high. Let me know when you'll be in Denver/Boulder - I go there all the time, I'm close & would love to have a drink with you!

Now that sounds like an adventure! Hope the dog doesn't get car sick!

I'm in California like you are so I'm not much help. But, hopefully others have hideouts/hangouts for you all.

Oh your adventurous!! I could never sleep in a bag on the ground. I will stick with my WASP cookout over the burners of my stove.

If you go directly north from Memphis, instead of going west to ft smith (not missing anything believe me)---you will run into Tenakim, and I will come over and meet you---then contune west to Sfield, Branson then without adding any appreciable distance to the trip.

And I willl make you laugh I promise
!

Yes, I will meet up with you all. And you MUST go to Graceland. We took the kids there on are last day of a 24 day trip 3 years ago. It was cheesy and it was fun! So worth it. Pictures galore.

Sounds like you are driving through tornado alley too... Yikes. I hope you have good weather.
Road trips are fun. I would go nuts in a car with my LOUD kids for too long.

Hey I'm having a giveaway come on over!

Check out Beale Street http://www.bealestreetonline.com/ while you're in Memphis.
If you go a little further north, go to the Red River Gorge http://www.redrivergorge.com/ in southern KY, if you wanna go a little further north (like 2 hrs, maybe), then come to Lexington, and we can have a drink, and you can totally shower at my house!

that sounds a lot like our trip, except ours is northern. I'm not a stressin kinda gal, so I leave that up to my MIL who is definitely going overboard on the stressing as well.
Take a deep breath, remember that you can micro-plan but that doesn't mean it'll all work out for you in the end.
Breath in, breath out, and life will carry on.

I'm in Texas but I seriously doubt you'll be swinging through West Texas, so let me know where you'll be going & I might have to make it there to see you guys... If you were really coming through here, you could all stay here. Let me know!

You'll have a blast on your trip. I've always loved road trips...

I am so glad you added Utah to the list. I would be so sad if you didn't step foot in the state. We have never been that close before! And I think you will smell just fine because you can find lots of place where you can pay a quarter for a shower! Hug the dog, you will feel better!

Sounds like you are going to be making awesome memories; hope we get to hear about some of it along the way. I've always wanted to do this kind of trip; we see so little of our own country.
You'll be fine; finding places to stay will be part of the adventure!
